# In a world where movie trailers are silent...  RIP Don LaFontaine

Was he in the “Best Buy” commercial a few years ago? It starts with his familiar voiceover offscreen, then, later it shows he’s actually talking to a “Best Buy” employee. The first time I ever actually saw him was in the Geico commercial, and that was later on, and I don’t recall whether or not LaFontaine was in the Best Buy commercial, or just someone imitating him. (Couldn’t find it on youtube, and Google didn’t help.)

I’ve seen/heard 3 obituaries for him in the past 24 hours (local news, ABC News, NPR). All of them used the “In a world where…” phrase in describing him, but none of them actually played a trailer where that phrase was used.

Can anyone pick up the slack here, and find an actual trailer that uses the phrase?

I wonder if Pablo has been/will be offered a job doing voiceovers in Don’s voice? If so, he should take it - that was his only funny routine.
