Happy. BIRTHDAY. Bill! (As a teenager, I was tickled to discover that Shatner’s birthday is two days before mine, and Leonard Nimoy’s is two days after mine. 😃 ) ---

I like Shatner because he can parody himself as well as anyone, but he is really going to have to cinch up that girdle. ---

To me, the thing that makes Mr Shatner so hilarious is his unawareness of just how bad and “over the top” he is. It seems he thinks every impersonation is a tribute. Still, that’s what makes him funny. Happy Birthday Bill and thanks for all the laughs. 😃 ---

The very first William Shatner imitator I ever saw started in standup, but today is more famous as a cartoon actor, playing Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Yosemite Sam, and a host of others in official Warner Brothers animations. This is the best clip I can find. The material isn’t great, but he does a spot-on Kirk and Scotty. [Joe Alaskey](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fE2XixW0SfQ) ---
