I’ve alwys loved the sitar intro to “Love You To.” Ialso like “The Inner Light,” with its lyrics taken from the _Tao Te Ching_, played with _tabla, sarod_, and _sarangi_. George Harrison (along with Brian Jones)has to get the credit for introducing Indian _raga_ to the West. His solo work produced a lot of great songs, like “Wah Wah,” “All Things Must Pass,” “Wonderwall To See You” (a title later borrowed by Oasis), and “Crackerbox Palace.” ---

He also founded “Handmade Films,” which produced two Monty Python movies as well as the cult Brit comedy “Withnail & I” (which probably wouldn’t have been financed by anyone else). Favorite movie-producer pick: tough choice, but for me it’s “Withnail & I”. 😉 ---

Ah, so many to choose from! I have been listening to my Beatles 1 CD this morning, and just came from the “All Things Must Pass” 30-year re-release site, which is very nicely done btw, where I heard clips from the CD. I also visited a site for “Concert for Bangladesh,” to refresh my memory. I’d have to say my very favorite Harrison tune is “What is Life?” - such a beautiful song! I’ve cried hearing it on ocasion, as I teared up this morning as well. I haven’t listened to “While my Guitar Gently Weeps” yet, for I know I’ll definitely cry over that. Yet I also love his nearly whimsical side, as in “Wah Wah” - that’s a fun song! Nearly every song on ATMP are wonderful, IMO: My Sweet Lord, All Things Must Pass, Beware of Darkness. It’s so hard to chose! But “What is Life?” is the one, followed closely by “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” George has left a wonderful legacy, which will live on, through his music. One song I’ve always enjoyed that I haven’t seen mentioned is _All Those Years Ago_. Add another vote for _While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Something, My Sweet Lord_, and _What is Life?_ For his solo efforts, George Harrison managed to assemble some amazing talent. **Here Comes the Sun** can put me in a good mood anytime, except maybe today. Our only consolation is that he had time to make his peace and that he was with closest family when he passed. Goodbye George. You were a wonderful guy. **My Sweet Lord** and **Give Me Love** have always been personal favorites. **Dark Horse** and **Blue Jay Way** never cease to amaze me. The radio was playing **Blackbird** on my way in. Maybe it’s then the one I’ll always remember him by. I’m sad for his loss but so happy we knew him. Goodbye friend. Your talent will always be an inspiration. ---

**Lieu** , “Blackbird” was a Paul song. I also love “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” with Eric Clapton doing the instumental solos. “Old Brown Shoe” is another unjustly overlooked George song. ---
