I hate grocery shopping - I used to be okay with it, when I was in my teens - mom, dad, and I would each take a third of the very organized shopping list (I think mom was borderline OCD) and we’d be done two weeks worth in half an hour - but I never liked it - the part I hated the most was carrying in the bags - because as the youngest, that was “my job” (mom’s job was to make sure SimonCat was locked in the bedroom - he hated that) The only time I actually go into a gorcery store/supermarket is for Smokey’s favorite cat food - Elegant Medleys - a brand Peapod does not carry. Everything else, I shop on line and a strong young man, sometimes two, brings it into my kitchen. Then I just have to deal with putting it away. But that’s okay because I didn’t have to stand on the checkout line for an hour while some yutz argued over the 3¢ difference between the package and the circular I got a lot done today - and it’s a good thing I brought the car in this morning for an oil change etc because they found a crack in the steering bracket which could have easily stranded me in Rhode Island. Then I took care of another errand, went to the salon to get my hair done, came outside and got rained on :rolleyes:, four more errands, and now I am home and wiped out - oh yeah, I did not make it to PT - but I sure got a workout. ---

I don’t like grocery shopping, but \*\*FCD \*\* likes it even less, and he would bring home way too much junk food or overpriced stuff. So I shop. Because I’m nice, dammit. ---

I took the Myers-Briggs test again today. It’s interesting that my results have slowly changed over time. My co-worker and I are literally polar opposites. We have a big meeting next month, and the entertainment is everyone’s Myers-Briggs results. Out of the many, many annoying workplace fads, the MBTI is one of the least annoying, IMHO. As for the knitting needles, I admit, shamefully, that I own a pair of SpeedStix, the plastic monstrosities from Lion Brand. Now that I can actually knit, I can’t use them, since I have to alter my knitting style too much. The thing that kills me about the Extreme Knitting needles is that they are almost 3 \*feet \* long! They must be really heavy, too. I don’t really like grocery shopping, which is probably a function of the closest grocery story being the university Safeway. It caters heavily to students, so lots and lots and lots of beer. And chips. And beer. ---

EEEP! My power is out, it’s really dark and creepy and the neighborhood is so quiet. I’m scared. Somebody hold me! I hope my laptop battery lasts. Okay, it’s back on. But the past half hour was pretty spooky. ---

I used to be an INTJ 10 years ago, and it looks like I’m slowly shifting to an INFP in another 10 years or so. The I and N are changeless, though, I’m always 100% for those 2. I’m taking a knitting class tonight to learn the Moebius cast-on. It’s actually a sophomore knitting class, because the Moebius class was canceled. I want to make this [cashmere cowl](http://www.catbordhi.com/documents/CashmereCowl.pdf)(warning - pdf.) I have a lovely purple and green cashmere that I’m going to use for the final project, but I think I’ll practice on lighter-colored yarn at first. ---

I’ve tested several times in the past few years (once the Real Thing, in a psych class, the rest I admit were online tests) as an INFJ. We’re supposed to be really rare, I guess. I know once as a kid I came out as an E-something, so I don’t know what happened there, but I’m no E these days. It does seem pretty accurate concerning me, you may vary. Yay! No work tomorrow! I do have to run to the shop to pick up my paycheck, but I can do it whenever I want. Ha! Apparently the magic date is December 9, when one of our regular washers will return. I can’t blame her for wanting to get her visa renewed so she’s here legally, and (I assume) seeing family and stuff, but the sooner she’s back, the happier I will be! There is a thread in IMHO about what you’re taking to Thanksgiving if you’re a guest. I’m embarassed to say I hadn’t even thought about it. I’ll have to figure something out. Still no word on the invisible roommate. As long as he doesn’t wake me up too early some morning, at this point, I’m almost beginning not to care. But not really. A good friend of my aunt’s told me that she made out with him at a party here once, which leads me to think he must be cute. I wouldn’t mind a bit of scenery around the place. ---

Congrats on the positive feedback, **Rebo**! I don’t mind grocery shopping, especially when I’m somewhere fun like Trader Joe’s or Wild Oats or Whole Foods. Somehow, I’ve made it to age 50 without ever having taken a Myers-Briggs test. I just took a quickie on-line test (I took [this one](http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp) but there appear to be lots; I just googled _myers briggs test_) and came out INTJ (which is apparently a common type among Mumpers, if uncommon among people as a whole). I think it would be interesting to take the real thing sometime. I spent about 3 hours at the zoo tonight because it’s the night they turn on their Christmas lights. My friend is a member and can bring a guest, so we always go (well, this is probably the fifth or so time we’ve been - we had to skip last year for reasons we can’t remember). It’s really cool. They use something like 3 million lights. Also, you can go into a lot of the exhibits. There were a bunch we’d never been in because they opened in the past two years. They have a lot of bats that they didn’t used to have. Also they have the largest reticulated python in captivity: [Fluffy](http://www.columbuszoo.org/animalareas/asia_quest/fluffy.html). She was just supposed to be there temporarily, but the zoo director said tonight that they’ve now made arrangements to house her there permanently. She’s BIG. We also got to see them feeding all the fish in the aquarium, which was fun. One of the staff members stood outside and answered questions while another swam around handing out food. Coolest part was watching him feed the stingray. Very odd looking. So, of course, I’m still very awake, even though I should be tired and sleepy by now. You would think, anyway. I’m sure there was more I wanted to respond to, but it’ll have to wait till tomorrow. It’s almost Firday!!! GT ---

After 2 hours of knitting, I have [this](http://www.flickr.com/photos/12190567@N08/2036110693/). It’s a baby moebius, honest! The first one was a freak of geometry, so just ripping it took some doing. **MamaTigs** , that actually kinked my Knit Picks cable! :eek: I didn’t think that was even possible. Now that I know what I’m doing, I keep panicking because the knitting’s twisted. The very first thing you hear when learning to knit in the round is “Join, taking care not to twist.” It’s hard to wrap my head around the idea that it’s \*\*supposed \*\*to be twisted this time. ---
