# In MLB standings, what is the WC column?

Both of those things are guaranteed to happen in the American League this year. The Red Sox and Yankees finished tied for second in the AL East and were the two wild-cards, with Boston hosting the Yankees because of tiebreakers. Winner will face the AL East Division champion, Tampa Bay.
