At least get good at basic arithmetic. My gf has to look at me every time she pays when we’re out. How much is the tip? If there’s tax, it’s easy for her, since the tax here is 8%, she just doubles the tax for the tip, and it works out great. However, if the tax isn’t on the reciept, it’s up to me. I got really frustrated with her when she asked me to figure the tip on a $10 bill! AHHHH. Anyway, she’s not stupid by any means. She’s extremely intelligent, and managed to work her way through one of the best schools in the country, so she’s not dumb…just bad at math.

Maths is just like any language, in that if you don’t practise it regularly, you’ll forget huge chunks of the vocab and grammar. I took a year out in France before university. When I got there, my French was good, but my Maths was terrible.
