Y’all know what I like best about this place? It’s a whole lotta things! It’s how we support each other through good and bad. It’s how we celebrate each other’s achievements. It’s how we commiserate each other’s bad stuff. It’s how we “yay, boo, hug, cross appropriate/inappropriate appendages, trout slap, hug, tell each other what we think, and generally, well, carry on with each other. Some folks think the MMP is silly. Those of us who participate on are regular basis, sometimes, at least, think of it as a lifeline or as a place we can tell each other of the , MPSIMS of our daily lives and know that whatever we say, we’ll get validation, hugs, commiseration, hugs, opinions good, bad or otherwise, or troutslaps as needed. 😃 We call each other Mumpers. A Mumper is _anybody_ who participates in any given MMP thread. Whether it’s every day, week, month, or once in a blue moon, if you post in a MMP, you **ARE** a Mumper. So, get over it! The upshot of all this is, I LURVE all you Mumpers! Now, as is our tradition. \*\* HIJACK THIS!!!\*\*😛 Oh, and case y’all didn’t get the gist of this post…… **I LOVE YOUSE ALL!!!** ---

So, if’n I don’t post reeeeeeeeeal early, y’all know why. 😃 ETA: The rule is, once you post in a MMP, you are a Mumper forever. Thus, there’s no such thing as an exmumper. You do it, you are one of us, forever and ever and ever. That’s the only Mumper rule. ---

I’m with you, _Swampbear_. Besides being remarkably intelligent, dopers are remarkably tolerant. When I post about my grandkids (especially my youngest, _Angelboy_, born 7/5) w/o pics (sorry, it’s my husband’s camera & I don’t know how to upload. Suggestions, anyone?), dopers complain, but don’t flame. When I was a newbie doper, someone suggest that dopers find ways to raise $$. I’d seen “#3. Hi, Opal” but had never seen anything posted by Opalcat, so in my ignorance, I suggested that we could each be Opal for a day, for a sum of money. Again, no flame (thanks, especially, Opalcat, for no flaming from you, sweetie!) Finally, I’m (1) a committed Christian, (2) a Walmart employee, & (3) a 55 year-old mom of two daughters & grandmom of four (formerly posted as 3.5 before _Angelboy_ was born). I’ve spoken my mind on various subjects & been subject to rebuttal, but never been flamed. It’s funny. I tested successfully for MENSA shortly after my older daughter was born, but now, 29 years later, I’m finally beginning to feel “smart” or like I’ve accomplished something. Ain’t life funny? It’s Monday Morning somewhere, isn’t it?? Sure it is. \*\*Swampy \*\* just lives in an alternate time-space continuum. Plus he’s plastered, so there’s that. Sometimes, the MMP is the only thread I read - it’s my guilty daily fix. Some days I get here later than others, but it’s nice to know you’re all always here. Kinda like a hangout where you’re always comfortable. Although there’s been a serious lack of chocolate love offerings around here of late. That needs to be addressed pronto. It’s like kitteh pics… And yes, we are silly in here, but it’s a good kinda silly. I’ve been around disyere board since sometime around 2001 but only recently got around to Mumping and now it’s my second stop in the morning after checking my email. I gots Mumpers on MySpace and Mumpers on LiveJournal and one of these days there’ll be a Dopefest that’s close enough I can afford to get to and then I’ll know Mumpers in person-like. There’s something very comforting about people knowing the silly little routines of your life, the annoying problems you’re confronting, the great/crappy recipe you tried last night, the hangover you were stupid enough to acquire (HI, SWAMPY!!!), the numb stunt your kid pulled, the fabulous shoes you just found–all the trivia of life spread out in a weird smorgasbord to be savored or ignored, debated or agreed on, but always in a supportive and kind way, which can sometimes be less than the usual case here on the Dope (or anywhere else, for that matter!) And when that godawful tragedy strikes you know there’s a whole bunch of hugs and sympathy and offers of help just a keyboard away, and when something outrageously fabulous happens there’s a whole bunch of people who’ll cheer and be happy along with you–and they will KNOW why it means so much to you and they will be absolutely sincere in whooping it up with you. And when you just feel like crawling into a hole and speaking to no one as you lick your wounds, there will be a crowd of concerned Mumpers who will not let you do it without an explanation–and they will be right because as Spider Robinson says, “Shared joy is doubled, shared pain is halved.” It’s a way of life around here, and it’s a good thing. Not to everyone’s taste, to be sure, but definitely to my taste and I love you all, too! I’m glad I have you all for friends… _tosses **FCM** a bag of those yummy chocolate covered espresso beans I just ate too many of–milk AND dark chocolate!_ ---

Hey all, I’m one of the once in a blue moon mumpers, I guess. Just popped in to say howdy and to wave at **freck**. Jump in anywhere, it is the anything goes, all sorts of silly, sad, and general free-for-all. If I remember the guidelines, (rules? we don’t need no steen’kin rules) it’s a chocolate love offering to **Mom** , plus beer and cookies to **Mr. Bear** , aka **swampy**. I guess I’m a wannabe mumper, since I don’t post to every MMP thread, only when I’m actually home on Monday. But since this week’s MMP was actually started on Sunday, why the hell not? Right now I’m cleaning the area next to the computer and restraining myself from throwing something at the TV as the Princess is watching Hannah Montana. She gets to watch TV as a reward for finishing one of her summer reading club books. Normally I can stand Hannah Montana, but today I don’t have the patience for the little blond bitch, but I don’t want to make my kid cry by smashing the TV with the cheap electric guitar my ex left behind. So I’m just gonna leave the room till it’s over. :mad: BTW I’m a little unclear on the concept of chocolate love offerings. Someone please explain. ---
