Regular spam is pretty tasty when fried. You don’t just eat it straight out of the can, any more than you would eat a canned ham straight out of the can. It has to be properly cooked. I think that a lot of the distaste for spam is because of this confusion. Best uses for Spam: 1. Musubi, eaten while still hot so the nori is warm and crisp. 2. Sliced fairly thin, then cut up and fried along with (into) scrambled eggs. You eat it for breakfast, with rice. 3. Sliced thicker, then fried and served alongside eggs, but separate, like a side of ham (which it pretty much is). Again, rice is the traditional side dish, but hash browns are ok too. Hash browns _and_ rice is a bit too much starch for most folks. I generally Don’t Eat Pork, for ethical reasons, but I am weak and have exceptions - this is the biggest one. ---

I’m beginning to think that the only reason this thread has been prolonged is that you and your friends have nothing better to do than heckle, and pervert my plain - spoken answers.
