I still get excited when I have to get a brand new notebook from the stationary cupboard at work, like I did this morning. I actually said to myself, ‘This time, I’m going to write neatly on every page!’ (I won’t.) 😃 In what ways are you still just a kid? ---

I bought a comic book yesterday, and the shop owner raised his eyebrow at my rolling it up and shoving as much of it as I could in my back pocket. I shrugged and said “Hey, I’ve been doing this since first grade. Every Saturday I’d hop on my Sting-Ray, pedal to the soda fountain for a vanilla Coke and read my brand new comic book at the park.” “So what you’re saying is, you haven’t grown up at all… You biking to get a vanilla Coke?” “Yeppers! The 7-11 sells 'em. Then I’m pedaling down to the park by the lake. It’s still cheap therapy.” ---

I’m 68, and I still love peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I also like Looney Tunes, Rabbids Invasion, and… SpongeBob Square Pants. ---

I play video games. The graphics are better but they are still games. I remember playing Atari and when we got our first nes system. ---

I still get super excited for the first snowfall of the season. For all of the rest of the snowfall too, actually. Hot chocolate and sledding and cozy pajamas with a good book all sound just about perfect to me! ---

Take me where there is sand and I WILL build sand castles. Yes, likely more than one! Also, if I’m in a mixed group of adults and small kids, I’m the one playing with the kids. If a child approaches the adults and asks, “Wanna play ??? with me?”, I’m always going to say “I will!” And, I will happily play with them for hours. Because kids are WAY more fun than adults, almost always. Much more laughing and giggling, which I’ll take over chit chat and finger food any day! ---

I still love weather that “does something.” Rain, snow, wind, thunder, lightning, whatever. When Hurricane Sandy hit New Jersey, my brother called me from New Zealand and made me promise not to go outside. ---

Farts are funny and always will be. If there’s a dog or cat anywhere near me, I cannot rest until I make its acquaintance. (May include kissing) I pick up pennies. ---

I love amusement parks and will ride all the rides, big and small. At Disney World I’ll ride Space Mountain and Dumbo and everything in between. I love stuffed animals. No, I don’t have any in my house or the back ledge of my car, (though I do have a stuffed Grumpy Cat on my shelf at work. She sits in judgement of everyone and keeps them in line) but when I see one in a store I \*have \*to pick up and cuddle it. My food preferences are quite childlike, I’m told :rolleyes: I still like to play dress up, though I really only ever get to do this one at Halloween. Speaking of which, Halloween. Of course I still enjoy the old cartoons and tv shows from my childhood but those were superior so . . . Those are just the ones off the top of my head. I must admit I’m pretty damned [del]childish[/del] childlike. ---

I have an insane sweet tooth and really enjoy even the mere act of looking at candy (of course I’d prefer to eat it, but my waistline is one of the ways in which I am decidedly not still just a kid) ---

I will never, ever make up my bed, ever! And you can’t make me, mom! Oh, and I can’t resist the swings at the parks. Whenever I see children on them, I think “Outta my way, kids!” but someone told me pushing kids off the swings so I can use them makes me a jerk. ☹ ---

Almost every way really except for the feeling of immortality I had as a teen. And luckily I found and married someone much like me so it hasn’t been an issue. ---

But noooooooooooo, they just start crying and you’re the jerk. Next time just tell them a nice man is giving away free candy by the jungle gym. If there’s one kid who doesn’t go to check it out just tell him the man has rice cakes too. ---

Southern Ca does not get much rainfall, I still get excited after our first big storm and want to go explore the local ditches and ponds to see if the spadefoot toads are breeding and laying eggs. ---
