I really want a cupcake now too. And I deserve one because I (we, actually, my husband helped) just finished repainting our entire 2 story, 3000 sq. ft. house. It’s taken us a month and, today, we will finish – one more coat on the front and back doors, replace all the entry locks, and put up all the little chingaderries (doorbell, doorknocker, house numbers…). Tomorrow, I’m making cupcakes! ---

They [del]are[/del] were so cupcakes! I’ve never heard of a rule that cupcakes had to involve chocolate (although I certainly looooooove those that do). Just as regular, full-size cakes are still cakes if there’s no chocolate involved. If there’s no frosting (or frosting-like substance), now, that might be a different story (except for bundt cakes, of course). Just the same, the ones that I make this weekend will most likely involve chocolate. And possibly peanut butter. 😃 ---

To me, that’s just something that takes up space on a bakery shelf–space that could be more appropriately used for something that contains chocolate. And here’s my cupcake report: I had one (double chocolate, of course) at Barnes & Noble yesterday. Yum. ---

The teacher couldn’t put a cupcake in a bag. It would have been a nasty, crumbly, sticky mess by the time you got it home. And I’ll tell you, once you’ve made cupcakes for the whole damn class, not forgetting to include enough for the teachers and teachers’ aides and whatever other assorted staff might wander through during the class party (even though that means you had to bake an extra dozen just to get twenty-_seven_ of the damn things) and you’ve found a way to transport twenty-_nine_ cupcakes (because you know that a couple of kids will drop theirs frosting-down onto the dirty floor, but your husband and the other kid at home made sad faces when you implied you might take all thirty-six cupcakes to school), well, sometimes you just can’t worry about whether some kid’s dad is going to be sad about not having a cupcake. Sorry. ---

It was my grandfather’s 89th birthday on Friday. I made 2 batches of cupcakes (chocolate fudge, whipped cream/cream cheese frosting, with sprinkles) for him and all his friends and the staff at his Senior Center. They were Beyond Yummy. So, **Hal** , there may well be cupcakes to look forward to in your old age. Treat **Lil’ Briston** well, and s/he may well breed offspring willing to lavish you and surviving friends with cupcakes in your old age.
