I’d love to see Santorum as the Republican nominee for president. Considering that I’d like to see either Mark Warner or Bill Richardson as our next president, that would suit me fine. As a native western Pennsylvanian, I’m particularly embarrassed by Senator Santorum. It’s a disgrace that he’s managed to win two terms. I miss Harris Wofford… ---

I voted for Santorum years ago (to my eternal shame) because he was pro-gun. Now that I know what the man is about I’d give up my guns and move Heaven and Earth to get rid of him. By the way, those poll numbers stem from the fact that Santorum is not yet campaigning and is embroiled in a [scandal](http://wampum.wabanaki.net/archives/001463.html). The actual election results will be much closer, I suspect. ---

I’m pessimistic enough to agree with you, but I don’t see any good reason to believe that he’ll be able to change things. His initial posturing seems to be attempts to appeal to the center or the left, folks who will probably not be swayed by a change in tune from Rick Santorum. ---
