Good God, **Derth**. Most time when people get whooshed, they’re good sports about it and bow out gracefully. They rarely continue to make a fool out of themselves like you’re doing. Just because you can’t recognize the irony practically dripping off every other word in the OP, it doesn’t make **RT** a liar. It just makes you hyper-literal in an Asperger’s kind of way. ---

He doesn’t seem to have the sort of meta-reasoning skills to recognize when he doesn’t get the joke and everyone else does. That thing that should have clicked in his brain and said, “Hey, since everyone else got the joke and I didn’t, obviously the problem is on my end.” It seems like he has an extremely limited ability to examine his own behavior. At least it’s a step up. This time he’s not calling for the joke-teller to be banned. ---

Thank you all for the clarification on MAD. Somewhat embarrassing there, since I’m one myself. Also thanks for the definition of “Newshole.” Not that I understand the context of either one as originally used in this thread, but I’ll quit while I’m ahead. BTW, I’m delighted to see that this thread, which had the potential to become really ugly, has turned out to be silly and delightful. Well, with the exception of **DrDeth** , who apparently performed his own humorectomy while still in med school. And, while I disagree profoundly with **Scylla** ’s politics, I must say that anyone who can write things as humorous as some of his stories have been has the right to a bit of ego. It’s OK for me to say this, since I also disagree profoundly with **Weirddave** ’s politics. 😃 ---
