It gets better everyday. Totally amazing. I am constantly in awe of the wonderful man that I have somehow been lucky enough to be paired with. I think it’s destiny.
I’ve never felt anything so powerful, mystical, phenomenal, remarkable, staggering… I could go on for days.
How about yours?

Call me a corndog too. I’m going on 20 years. We don’t even have to be in the same room to be together. The house feels different when she’s not in it.

I’d go so far as call it scientifically proven (but I won’t couse I don’t feel like googling for cites ;)), because we know fairly well what’s going on in a body when the person first falls in love, and we know that it doesn’t last, and we know it’s a good thing because we don’t want everybody floating around like them guys in Cypress Hill, bad for evolution.

> Now, can that magic turn into love? Yes. And I’m experiencing it too, I’m looking at her right now, playing one of them Reflexive game.

I disagree. I can honestly say that “that feeling” mentioned in the op never dulled, but actually grew. That spark that told me this was who I wanted to spend time with. Maybe I didn’t have “that feeling” if what you mean is infatuation. We were friends before the relationship started growing and its kept growing to this day. When she’s around, my heart still gets lighter–physically, it feels lighter. More often than not a smile comes to my face for no (other) reason, and I still have that feeling of, “I can’t be this lucky, I’m going to fuck this up” It that “that feeling?” If so, I’m a friggin medical miracle!

When I first read the OP, I thought she was talking about limerance. Limerance is an emotional and physical condition that characterizes being intensely in love.

[Love and Limerance: The experience of being in love](http://www.amazon.ca/Love-Limerance-Experience-Being/dp/0812862864) attempted to explain the emotional and physiological responses of people in this condition. Since this book, there have been many studies on the subject.

Having read the responses though, it seems that the “magic” which some characterize as limerance and other feelings are getting mixed into one pot.

ETA: Upon further review, pretty much **Wakinyan** said.

For the record, it’s still magical. Better than ever. Life is good.

[hijack]Fascinating. I often ponder about the difference between various types of love and limerance. The English language sucks sometimes… I much prefer the Greek or even the Japanese vocabulary for ways of making distinction between different types of love. This new word ‘limerance’ will help me greatly, and I shall become a champion for its increased use.[/hijack]

For me limerance is more a function of who than when. When I’m with a certain girl, the feeling does gradually decrease, but the slightest romantic moment can set it aflame again. I’ve had other girlfriends where I’ve cared for them deeply yet never felt that spark, that secret fire.

That secret fire is perhaps the strongest force of human motivation in the world. Some warm by its fire, and it provides light and warmth to their home. Some become its servant, and it burns their house down and everyone inside.

The excitement of being in a new relationship feeling faded about five months into it for me. But the sex has gotten a lot better, which more than makes up for it.
