Well, I’m all in favor of happy dancing, but the deal as stated in the article does not inspire me with terpsichore.
3 months to negotiate a long-term budget plan? They haven’t been able to do that in (how many?) years. To me this just looks like kicking the can a very short way down the road.
Next year is election year. I hope sensible moderates on both sides of the aisle are able to use this exercise in the futility of tantrum-throwing to increase their numbers.
And pie.

I agree about the Democrats but not the “center-right Republicans”.
To paraphrase the rabbi of Moscow: “the Tea Parties make the revolutions and the center-right Republicans pay the price”.
It’s possible that the TP will be hurt by this. But the more likely casualties are the center-right Republicans.
