I’m too stuck in a jaded funk about how fucked-up the reporting on this and how many dishonest shitbags there are in high authority positions to really be happy about any of this. I almost wish we had gone over the debt ceiling, if only for the sake of having an even stronger case to give the entire republican establishment the old heave-ho in 2014. And maybe going “Good Morning America” on a few Fox News contributors. ---

There’s a good chance there still would’ve been a Republican House majority in 2015 even if there had been a default. Imagine how that would’ve looked. ---

I think he means in the House - the vote was 219 to 212 there, with 34 Democrats crossing over and no Republicans. ---

They did need all 60, but I thought they needed that Republican support rather than just wanting it.
