We don’t need to go wading around in our own gene pool, now, do we? (For the record, though, just how distant must a cousin be before it’s OK? Just wondering… No reason…)
Gee, I feel left out; I don’t have any attractive male relatives at all.
But I do notice that after I become pals with men, they no longer attract me. I can think of a handful of guys who are cute as all get-out, but after we became good platonic friends, I could bunk down with them and not feel a thing (in fact, that has happened).
I guess familiarity really does breed contempt . . . Or at least disinterest.
Don’t worry SwimmingRiddles; I don’t go to the family reunions looking for dates. Maybe Da Ace and I could make some cousin-swapping arrangements, though…
Nah, the lesson is that we’re all merely pawns of Fate, and if the oracle had said that your infant son was destined to murder your husband, well, you would have been better off just going along with it. Otherwise . . .
Some states allow sexual relations and marriage between first cousins outright, some have specific requirements. For example, her in Wisconsin 1st cousins may marry if the woman is over age 55 or if a physician submits an affidavit that one of the parties is permanently sterile. Every state will recognize 1st cousin marriages if they are performed in a state which allows them.
