# Income tax question

I just started my new job as a field technician. My service area includes parts of Maine and New Hampshire. Will I have to pay income tax to NH for any projects I have there? FWIW, I am an independent contractor.

NH doesn’t have income tax.

No, we don’t. But Maine will tax the income the OP makes here. That’s the bad thing about living here but working in Maine or Massachusetts.

I live in Maine, so I was expecting to pay taxes in Maine.

Yeah, but were you expecting to pay Maine income tax on every cent of income you make, regardless of whether or not it was earned in Maine?
