Getting not only database errors but hanging loadtimes. Might as well forget about trying to do a search. ---

I’m getting sick and tired of having to consistently refresh after “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage”, to actually get a page loaded. I’m getting very sick and tired of my searches (rare, and mostly to find my own posts) getting an “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage”, and then I can’t repeat it for five minutes. This has been going on for three months or so, and in that time I have not had this problem with any other web site I go to. ---

I’ve never seen any of these problems, but I never visit before noon eastern time these days. Is this solely a morning thing? ---

Actually, right now (in GQ at least) threads are not updating when posted to. That is, there is a lengthy delay between the last post and movement up the page with the last poster listed. And that’s right now. ---

Every morning now, the board’s performance is craptastic. It will usually load threads, but not forums, instantly. The forums usually hang for up to 10-15 minutes and usually time out. It also resets and all of the posts are “read” again. This hasn’t really been happening to me outside of 7:45 - 8:30 AM central time. ---

Yep, every morning visit is five minutes after booting up the PC. Every other site runs fine. ---

This morning is a classic example. Has hung up four times now, just trying to navigate around the forums, make answers, etc. Almost makes you want to avoid the Board in the morning. :mad: ---

Database errors this morning. ETA: For me the issue is linking the on the forum name (eg Cafe Society). If I click the link to the main page it’s fine. If I click on “last post” button on the top level thread visible from the main page in a particular forum, it’s fine. But once in that forum if I click on the forum navigation link at the top (SDMB\>main\>cafe society) it hangs. ---

I suspect it’s some sort of automatic routine or job is being run, perhaps an archive of the database or somesuch. ---

I’m just glad that the board performance is generally better now that it’s gone free to post. Otherwise, I might have had an issue paying for horrible performance…oh wait, _I did_! ---
