There are a few errors in verb forms and idioms, which is par for the course. I make the same kind of mistakes writing in Spanish unless I take a lot of care. If anything, I would say it was better than I would expect from the average non-native speaker of English, especially writing casually on a message board. ---

Dude(tte), Iā€™m a native Spanish speaker who frequently writes in this board. I didnā€™t see the errors you or **Blank Slate** noticed. And that style is also better for other stuff some of us non-English native speakers have written here. Lay it off. Whether it was authentic or not, the English errors are not an indication. ---

Dear **Mrs Incubus** , If you are in fact real, and I hope that you are, I urge you, beseech you even, to join this board and post with some frequency. And I hope you use **HMWā„¢** as a username, because that would just be fourteen different degrees of awesome if you did. I donā€™t know if **Incubus** is in fact a douchebag, Iā€™ve seen few of his posts so I canā€™t say for certain. Although the quoted contributions offered here demonstrate a definite leaning in that direction, I grant you. Nevertheless, if you are indeed an actual person and not the fevered imaginings of some deluded Ralph Kramden-esque San Franciscan flailing about in his own self-loathing, please consider my request. It would be great to have you. And if you arenā€™t real and this is indeed a form of trolling, then dude, cā€™mon. Trolling has to just be the loneliest of sports. Even if, somewhere in the darkest, murkiest recesses of the great big WorldWide, someone is actually keeping score and tracking how many poor, unsuspecting rubes a particular troll has duped and/or enragedā€¦trolling still has to just be the loneliest of sports. I would love to see her set up her own account on the SDMB and contribute regularly. Assuming sheā€™s real, of course. Iā€™m inclined to believe that she is; Iā€™m not buying into **faithfool** ā€™s theory that this is a sophisticated reverse-psychology strategy designed to garner sympathy for **Incubus** and create a punishment-and-redemption narrative. As other posters have pointed out, the style is consistent with that of an educated Hispanic ESL writer, and Inky has a long history here. I wouldnā€™t put it past Inky to create a sock puppet, but if he did, heā€™d likely give ā€œherā€ the same smug, self-satisfied tone he affects. If ā€œMrs. Incubusā€ is a fake, itā€™s a masterfully-executed one. ---
