# "Indian Summers"; new PBS series starts tonight

Sort of an updated _The Jewel in the Crown_, with more than a dash of _Downton Abbey_. I’m looking forward to it. Anyone else?

I watched it when it aired in the UK (on Channel Four). It’s very uneven and will frustrate you sometimes - the casting choices are really odd at times - but it’s watchable, at least. It did fairly well and a second season is in the works.

Yup. That’s one of the examples of bad casting. It wouldn’t matter if race weren’t a really important theme in the show.

Wow, that was not good at all. Overall just bad writing. Maybe it gets better…
