Ceejaytee – It doesn’t leak. Mine doesn’t anyway. The plug in the bottom fits very closely, and you have to put it on a cup to push the bottom up and in and unstop the plug, which is in the middle. There are little tabs around the outer rim to stop anything else accidentally pushing the bottom in when you set the mug down.
I have an IngenuiTea teapot from Adagio Teas and I really like it. You heat the water and add loose tea. Then when it’s ready you put the pot on top of the cup and the tea drains out while the leaves stay in the pot. It works very well - I’ve never had any leaks. And you can heat it in a microwave.
