Sham wow is not a chamois. It’s some kind of microfiber. It works great – for my uses it’s better than a chamois because chamoises (plural is what?) don’t work well dry. I use my sham wows for partially drying my knitted wool socks, sweaters, etc. that I wash by hand. They work great. No more dripping across the floor with hand washed things.
