# Infrared BBQ grills - hot or not?

Thinking about getting one, but of course I’d never make a move of such consequence w/out canvassing the Board. Anyone got one? How d’you like it?

For me, why bother. If it doesn’t have charcoal or wood, it’s not a BBQ, it’s just a regular oven moved outdoors.

YMMV, of course. 😉

My folks just got [one of these](http://www.basspro.com/Char-Broil-Tru-Infrared-2-Burner-Urban-Grill/product/11081905011714/212158?hvarAID=shopping_googleproductextensions&om_mmc=shopping_googleproductextensions&affcode_c=17kw3123388&SST=523a4372-4c01-53a9-7abd-00006b34f7b2)to replace their worn-out standard gas grill.

Mom thinks burgers do cook slightly faster. I had some burgers they cooked on it, they were good. But I think most food not cooked by me is good.

Nothing exciting to them - just extra (removable) metal between the burners and the grate. More heat convection as opposed to direct heat.
