Would it be crazy to run them through the washing machine while putting in a bunch of rubbing alcohol in instead of detergent?
eta: I use alcohol to clean stuff all the time. It’s a little rough on the hands but pretty darn useful in certain situations, regardless.

Yes. You’d be diluting the alcohol to the point of ineffectiveness. You need to apply the alcohol directly to the ink stain.
