Am I getting wooshed left and right? I will put four grand on the fact that no Juggalo has gone to France to learn the intricacies of being a true clown. This also stinks of a “King of the Hil” episode, and I should stop while I’m ahead. UGH. Why did I even bother to ask? Juggalos don’t want to be clowns. If they did, I might like that culture. Instead they want act like bottom dwellers with paint on their faces. Please prove me wrong, Straight Dope Juggalos. The only one that I have seen bring his face forward admitted to hating most of the music, and not hearing the rest of it. If that’s the case, please explain why you want to be a Juggalo, even though you hate the music. This blows my mind twelve different ways. At least punk rock has cool chains and red tartan plaids and wonderful boots! ---

I don’t hate the music, I just find that the vast majority of what they’ve put out isn’t worth listening to time and time again. But what I do like of theirs I really like because it’s raunchy and funky like a dirty laundry pile. And I don’t _want_ to be a Juggalo, I **am** one. I think everyone looks for a complicated explanation of what drives a person to like this group despite their lack of obvious redeeming value. And the answer is too simple: ICP (and the Juggalos by extension) likes being hated. When _The Great Milenko_ was pulled by Disney a day after being released, ICP briefly enjoyed mainstream success and they _hated_ it. Violent J sums it up nicely in the intro to “Juggalo Family”: _And they wanted to know if I would trade ten Juggalos for a hundred mainstream fans. And I said I wouldn’t trade ten Juggalos for a hundred thousand mainstream fans. Ten Juggalos is priceless._ Or from the sampler for _The Wraith_, Simple and Blunt: _Tell me this muthafucka truly, how you living? Ever get the urge maybe do a little wig-splittin’? DWMarch, what makes you consider yourself a juggalo? On the video I had - mentioned up thread - they described juggalos as _fanatics_. Juggalos are known for wearing ICP/Psychopathic clothes every single day, having the stickers on their cars, going to every show in the region (even 2 states away) in facepaint, listening to nothing but ICP and other Pyschopathic Records acts, and basically loving every minute of it. You seem like someone who likes their attitude and a couple of their songs. ---

I’ve defended them here, and I’m definitely not a juggalo. I could sit here and quote _Ninja_ or just about any song off their first 4 joker’s cards to you all day, and I’m still not a juggalo. ---

I don’t know very much about them, to be honest, but when I helped with security for a gaming website, every single person who had a “Juggalo” reference in their login name or their profile eventually trolled the site, tried to break security, or just misbehaved. At first I thought it was the same person moving around a lot and changing service providers, before I found out where “Juggalo” came from. This isn’t to say that all ICP fans are worthless antisocial trash; just that I had a protracted run where every single one I met was. ---
