# Insect repellents that work? Preferably non-DEET.

one thing to remember is that permethrin is for clothes, not skin, but it seems to be widely recommended for that purpose. and at least one place is selling a catnip preparation.

I live in mosquito hell (Houston). I have tried every non-DEET repellent out there. [Bite Blocker](http://www.biteblocker.com/intro.html) is by far the best! They also make a formula for pets.
