I’m inclined to just say Riley has a mix of traditionally feminine and traditionally masculine traits and leave it at that.

Yeah, Riley seems to have a normal mix of traditionally female/male traits. If anything, it’s more odd for the parents to not have any of the opposite gender in their head.

That’s standard from a kid’s point of view. Mrs Piper was talking to a kid recently and referred to the kid’s mother by her name.

Kid says: “Who?”

Mrs P: “Your mother.”

It was in the movie itself. Near the end, her control panel got an upgrade, her 5 Islands had become a veritable Caribbean (including “Tragic Vampire Romance Island”, “Boy Band Island” and “Fashion Island”) and that’s when the Puberty Button got installed. Puberty is looming, and the infrastructure being placed to deal with it, but the movie ends before anyone presses Puberty.

I can’t find the actual clip, but you can see the bigger control panel being installed at 9:39 in the Everything Wrong With Inside Out video.
