It’s been with me ever since I could remember, but instead of getting used to it, it just kills me more and more with each passing day.

Yeah, it sure sucks the big one. I’m sure you’ve went to doctors and done the old wives things to try to help. I feel for you.

You have my sympathies. I’ve had bouts of insomnia for many years. It’ll happen for a while, ease off for no apparent reason, then come back. The “old wives” remedies don’t work. I envy people who can sleep uninterrupted for 8 hours. I’m up 3 or 4 times a night. In the early months of the pandemic, I couldn’t sleep more than 3 hours at a time. I’d awaken, wide awake, staring into the blackness of the night at 2am. Inevitably, mild panic would set in, which only made it worse. I tried to calm down by focusing on doing something productive, which you might think would be a brain stimulant, but which often eased my mind enough that I would feel drowsy again after a couple of hours.
