They’re about 5" tall. Pretty nicely detailed. Flexible. Posable. I’m thinking of doing a story board with them, maybe a very crude stop action animation. Need plot and diologue idea®s. Or… what else could I do with these “action” figures, hmmm? Doper Mutants! Unite! ---

How about a transplant? You could go all Toy Story evil kid and merge plastic beast with plastic beast, creating a doll far more powerful than one any man has ever played with. . . ---

They’re not dolls, they’re ACTION FIGURES! 🙂 And as a comic and toy collector, I can’t tell you how often I have to clarify that. You can always do a “comic strip” by taking a series of pictures of them with a digital camera, and then use a program like Photoshop to add your own serious or funny dialogue balloons and captions. Similar to your storyboard idea, of course. Some toy collectors display their action figures unopened, on the blister cards, but I can already tell you’ve got bigger plans than that. I used to do this, and only became an “opener” last year, when I had to move and realized loose figures take up less space than mint-on-card ones. Most “openers” pose them in dioramas or displays, either in action scenes or stiffer “class picture” sort of groupings. But this means you need to get more characters to go with them! Expand your X-Men team! Get some villains! Let your Marvel Universe grow enough to reenact Secret Wars! Hell, get some DC characters for a crossover event, or some wrestling figures to play “hired goons”! (I am selling a good deal of my action figure collection on my website FOR CHEAP, if you care to look.) ---

I once took some Trek action figures and shot about 300 digital pictures and did some bad stop motion animation. I used a slide show program and set it to 10fps. It looked ridiculous, but I laughed my ass off. I had Gowron breakdancing across my computer desk. I showed it to Mrs. Blue Sky and she gave me THE LOOK. The kind of look that says, “Now, just stay quiet dear, while the nice men in the white jackets show you to their truck.” ---

Heh heh, Mutant rights, NOW! btw, i don’t know how that 5" got in my post. 😕 They’re 12". Wolverine is actually 13", cause he’s tall. 🙂 Kurt’s tail is cool. The comic strip sounds good. I might PhotoShop some stuff. It’ll take me a while, though… ---

Since you mention Nightcrawler, I’m assuming they are X2 movie figures (Wolvie as unmasked Hugh Jackman in black), as opposed to older versions, like Wolvie’s classic yellow costume and mask. But are they wearing actual cloth costumes like “dolls,” or are they just sculpted “rotocast” action figures in the larger scale? ---

They are the X-2 figures from Toy Biz. The clothing is moulded as part of it, except for Kurt’s huge coat. It’s a separate, removeable piece. The faces (unmasked, yes) look remarkably like the actors from the movie. The boxes have a still from the flick plus a character description on the back. They look great, are very detailed, and you can pose them (to a certain extent). I doubt these are on their way to being collectable, but, I want to get the complete set. I wonder what characters they did. All the mains from that movie? Does Professor X come with a wheelchair? Does Mystique have a camel toe? Can I strip down Rogue? So many questions. ---

They may have made a Cyclops, but I’m not sure about anyone else. The 6" X2 movie figures made a wider variety of characters, but usually the only ones you could find were several different Wolverines, Nightcrawler, and occasionally a Cyclops. These didn’t sell terribly well (toy collectors call such unpopular figures “peg-warmers”), so a second series with Magneto, Rogue, and a couple others is harder to find. However, you can probably find movie-style Spider-Man and Hulk in similar 12" scale to go with your Wolverine and Nightcrawler. They released a ton of Hulk merchandise that everyone still has, and the Spider-Man 2 toys are already in wide release. ---

I mean, “pen is” thanks to my poseably Yuri action figure (from Dirty Pair) that my wife gave me for Christmas. I bend her in the proper way and use her for a pen holder. ---

How about a gay marriage in honor of all of the gay marriages going on in San Francisco? You could have a Smurf officiate the ceremony, and then a G.I. Joe could come in and file a lawsuit to stop it. Barbie could be the judge who refuses to issue a temporary injunction.
