I installed IE 7 the other day. It looked like crap. I uninstalled it.
Maybe I just need more time to get used to it.

Keep telling yourself that–in the meantime, Firefox 2.0 is simply spiffy in spite of the loss of colorful tabs…
I’ve been using IE7 since a day after it was released. I didn’t try the beta. So far no real problems and no crashes. Firefox (1.5 versions) seemed to crash on me every other day or so.
My work computer has been bothering me the last couple of days about an update it needed to download. When I checked it this afternoon before leaving work I realized it was IE7. I unchecked it and told it never to bother me about it again.
Of course, I only use IE at work to access two work-related sites that absolutely insist on requiring IE to work (stoopit crappy web developers!) For everything else I use Firefox 2.0.
I don’t use automatic updates on my home PC so it hasn’t bothered me, and when I do a manual update I shall uncheck it here, too. I’ve absolutely no use for it and every reason to look at it askew.
The odd thing is, I had the beta version running for a few months and occasionally used it with no problems. Heck, it hijacked my Outlook Express settings so any URLs in emails would only open in it, not in Firefox. It’s when I downloaded the update to the official release that it screwed up my scanner.
I’ve gone back to IE6 for those rare occasions when I need IE, reconfigured email to open URLs in Firefox, upgraded to 2.0, and am having no more problems.
So far. But if I see that damned little yellow shield again…
