On the drive up to see my dad this Thanksgiving, I took a toll road to save time. As I pulled up to the toll booth, I saw that the toll would be $2.50 and I happened to have a $5 bill. On a whim, I decided to pay for the car behind me too. I’d thought that would be a peculiar, but pleasant, surprise for some complete stranger … random acts of kindness and all that. When I got up to the booth though, the attendant told me the car ahead of me had already paid _my_ toll. Anyway, that put a smile on my face. Does anybody else have a tale of instant karma for this holiday season? ---

Walking down the street, I playfully called my S.O. an ditzy blonde idiot. Just as the word was done coming out of my mouth, I walked right smack into a tree and got a cut on my face. OUCH! My S.O., a great believer in Karma, had to sit down on the sidewalk because she was laughing so hard. Damn Karma. ---

I think I’m going to buy a new used engine tomorrow - it’s an insurance write off, with 170000 K, that gets 160 on a compression test. All of this is a damn site better than my current engine, which I will be lucky if it gets me home from work tonight. PLEEEEEEZE, send me good car karma - it’s cold here in Calgary (-20) and I really don’t want to have to walk home… ---
