Moderating: Ok, this is rapidly becoming the sort of non-serious thread that is better suited to the Pit. To @EnolaStraight, your objectives for starting this thread have been in question since its inception. I’m going to close it for now. Please let me know if you want it reopened in the Pit so as to include non-serious answers, or if you want mod guidance to keep it on a more serious track in P&E. ---

I remember being envious when countries like Greece and the Czech Republic, in the wake of the 2008 crash, appointed non-political “technocrats” as prime minister. Find one of those folks here in the US and I’ll vote for them. Extra points if they don’t even want the job. ---

I am of the opinion trump didn’t want the job, either. (I mean, sure he wanted to be president, but not actually to do the job. He wanted to be president to improve his brand.) And he fucked things up more than Harding. ---

I don’t want someone who doesn’t want the job. It would be great though if we could figure out some ways to make the job different in a way that makes hanging onto it less appealing. Oh also, I’m good with Kamala, so I don’t need an instead of, but we have a long list of good candidates to choose from.
