Maybe your guest sub expired on SDMB, but I wouldn’t be surprised if you left willingly! Only a few actually tried to answer your question. I don’t know what you saw, but it sure sounds interesting! My guess would be some sort of illusion (not hallucination), like a reflection through an atmospheric anomoly or something. Or perhaps there was something there that looked like the moon, but was difficult to discern because of the proximity to the sun.
