When I was doing my PhD, I was ready to quit many many times yet my therapist promised me that after I get my PhD I will earn many dollars. I earn about $240/month plus some occasional earnings in my internship I have since 2009. Now I will truly get a lot of money. Back in the 1980s Ecuador had some $100 bills whose colors & size & corners looked a \*lot \*like the then-current US 100 bills. Yes, "" was the currency symbol they used too. The difference was that 100 Ecuadorian sucre notes were worth about US 10 cents at the time. I bought a stack of them to use as bookmarks. With just an inch or so sticking out they sure looked like US Benjamins. 🙂 ---
