Not sure which forum this goes in, so I put it here.

How long until commercial domain names start getting annoyingly wacky? Since common names like [sports.com](http://sports.com), [sex.com](http://sex.com), and [auctions.com](http://auctions.com) were all snatched up years ago, online merchants are resorting to making up names like [bamzu.com](http://bamzu.com).

Are the powers that be going to offer any fixes to save us from the inevitable [ziggywhampuscatcharieum.com](http://ziggywhampuscatcharieum.com)? New top-level domains don’t seem to work, since (in the eyes of netizens) .tv and .info have a chintzy, throwaway feel compared to the lush, old-fashioned .com.

I suppose something like [http://finance//www.money.com](http://finance//www.money.com) could work, but I don’t know how it could be implemented.

Thoughts?

Adam
