# Internet Explorer Problem

My Internet Explorer fails to have the “status bar” turned on by default anymore, even after I manually click it on under the “view” option. How can I make it permanently on? Thanks.

After you turn it on, use File -\> Close to close the window, instead of the X at the top right.

That X shuts down immediately without saving settings.
