# Internet Radio Question

In addition to my blog, I’d like to create my own station to play music and discuss the latest news about Alzheimer’s/Dementia, but I need to be able to do it free or for very little money.

I went to Shoutcast, but they don’t mention the VISTA platform and only go as far as XP.

Also, I need a “here-take-my-hand-stupid” primer on how it all works and I didn’t see a FAQ on Shoutcast.

Google these two things:

create podcast

free podcast hosting

[Here’s a step-by-step](http://radio.about.com/od/podcastin1/a/aa030805a.htm) that was my first hit for the first query, and [this host](http://www.podbean.com/) was my first hit for the second query. They both seem really promising.

Those should get you started but you can find out more by searching using those terms.

Should be easy once you get started! 🙂

Just what I needed and Podbean _looks_ like the format I would like to use, since I can embed it on my blog. I was a little worried because one other site recommended mentioned putting it on a website, but the blog is all I have on the net.

Apparently I can also launch the broadast from Podbean, if I choose to.

Also, no technology to learn, I have a microphone from my singing/playing days and at a reasonable cost.

If they allow sponsors, this would allow me to pay for it, plus it’s free if they don’t!

I don’t know if I ever mentioned this here, but in the years 1972-85, I used to _work_ in radio, first as a DJ then as news director and talk show host, so bull-shitting just should be as easy as riding a bike to me!😉
