Home. Poke roast in the toaster oven where it will be joined by cornbread in a bit. Some sort of veggie sides shall be made also. Glad the week is almost over. We’re going to stay with my mom Sat night since we’ll be up that way. Higlet will stay with Cozmo. The cats will be on their own. So goeth my weekend. ---

We were going to go downstate for Chinese New Year this weekend but we may not go at all because of the weather. I am in a class in which the teacher ‘would like us’ to do team projects. I hate team projects, but I grudgingly accepted it. First of all one woman suggested a project for the entire class to do. That’s five of us, which doesn’t sound like a lot but I know from experience it’s a lot when you are trying to get them together. So I politely said no, cc’ing everyone. Then, no one responded for like a week. So finally I posted an idea for my project. I think I can easily get 15-20 pages (required) out of my project. Another girl posted hers. But I don’t think she can get 15-20 pages out of hers. I don’t have any problem asking her politely how she thinks she’s going to get them… But honestly I just want to not do a group project with anyone. Who thinks it’s OK? Why do professors ask these kinds of things? I hate group projects. Maybe this should have been in the mini rant thread…grumble. ---

The granny square defeated me. I don’t know why. I’m going to have to redo it. My Achilles tendon’s been hurting today. I almost fell over walking down the hall after I got off work. I need to tie it up tomorrow to see if that helps it any. ---

I ran into a lot of The Stupid at work today. I did indeed ask if it was against the rules/illegal in anyway to smack both a coordinator and a member of the global supply team in the forehead with a spoon. I was told it was frowned on but feel free to rip them both a new one if I felt it was necessary. So it was done. The lack of common sense was astounding. But I fixed it. Howdy all - Quick work story before I return to lurk mode. I spent the day parked outside a Waste Management transfer facility in Maryland because some nasty mom killed her 2 yr old daughter and put her in the dumpster, and the police traced the trash to this facility. I got over to the place around 2:30, and soon after the LNS (local news service / shared helicopter) arrived to get aerials. While the chopper hovered got shots I jumped on the 2-way and gave them pointers of where the good video was to be had. A couple minutes later a big, blacked out Suburban comes rumbling up and two well armed police officers hop out, dressed in all black tactical gear. I start getting the third degree about what I am doing there as they eye my old Suburban with about a dozen antennas and my 50 foot tv mast slowly deploying. I’m thinking ‘what the fuck guys, you don’t know why this facility is about to be crawling with investigators?’ They looked too well armed to be private security, but too uninformed to be Anne Arundel County cops. Regardless they finally seemed convinced I was telling the truth and though they kept eyeing my truck with great suspicion, they just retreated to their vehicle and started making phone calls. I stood there wondering, WTF, and got ready to tune in my signal to the station. As I did so I consulted the map to get my bearings, and as I looked it dawned on me where I was and who they were… \*As I was parked 1/4 mile from NSA Headquarters, talking to a hovering helicopter (with a big camera & transmitter), working an antenna laden truck. \* To be fair, they were on me real quick, and chances are sometime tonight some NSA analyst will read this entry when their computers catch the keywords in my post. So to that person, pass along to your security folks: well played, dear police, well played… ---
