Afternoon, mumpers! I bought myself an early buffday pressie today. For ages I’ve been looking at stand mixers but couldn’t justify the cost of a proper KitchenAid/Cuisinart version…then I found [this](http://www.amazon.co.uk/Andrew-James-Electric-Stunning-Cookbook/dp/B006VSAPA0/ref=sr_1_4?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1360326840&sr=1-4) on Amazon which is a fraction of the price and must therefore be mine, right? In other news, I’m in the office on my own today. I may have to do something radical like not using a coaster. But don’t tell **mooooooom**! ---

_ **It has begun** _ Snowmageddon has started, projected to go to “extinction-level-event” or somesuch by 2PM, and be wrapped up by 36 hours hense. I’m staying in, thankyouverymuch. Mrs. Vorlon has just left for a Scrapbooking weekend, leaving me and Vorlon Jr. to our tender mercies and culernary skills. _The happy dance has begun…_ ---

I’m really freaking sad and upset. I just broke the lovely coffee mug that another Doper sent me. ☹ I’m more sad about this than is rational. I hope to God and whoever else is up there that I’m not losing it. ---

Just a brief oddity In my neighborhood there is a car that I see with some frequency. Its an 80’s chevy wagon but small, I think it is a Cavalier wagon, black with a red pinstripe and an enormous hood scoop. Like a drag racing hood scoop, ya know a scoop for a massive intake/blower or the like. Now this car is obviously a 4 banger soooo… I know that people do the darndest things, inexplicable things but what could you possibly be thinking? Racing? No. Impressing Chicks? I doubt it. Is there an actual blower under the hood? I doubt it. BTW this thing is so big it obscures the drivers right side vision. Anyhoo I get fixated on these kinda questions. **Jim** ---

You know, it’s those little triggers that can send us over the edge, and that’s okay. I think sometimes it’s like a release valve - letting you blow off steam before the pressure gets too high. I’m sorry about the coffee cup. I do hope your day gets better. ---
