FUN!! I was totally thinking about this topic this morning without reading this thread. Anime: Edward Elric: Hmm. If he heard that he could find Real Ultimate Power in Slytherin, then he’d be there. Its’ for a good cause though. Smart enough to be a Ravenclaw; brave enough to be a Gryffindor. I’m guessing Gryffindor. Al Elric: Hufflepuff. Wicked brave and smart, but he’s very loyal. Roy Mustang: Gryffindor. Riza Hawkeye: My bed, I mean, Ravenclaw. Maes Hughes: Hufflepuff. Scar: Hufflepuff. A murder, sure, but not evil per se. Just misguided. Shou Tucker: Slytherin, no doubt about it. Kenshin Himura: Reformed Slytherin. Kaoru: Hufflepuff. Yahiko: Gryffindor. Sanosuke: Reformed Slytherin. Seijuro Hiko: Ravenclaw. Shishio: Slytherin and loving it. To go back to the beginning of the thread: Willow - Ravenclaw (Think age eleven.) Xander - Hufflepuff (He’s _loyal_, and in the beginning of the series, I think he’s more Puff than Gryff.) Wesley - Psycho Gryffindor. Reminds me a bit of Percy when he was on Buffy. Giles - At age eleven? Defintely Slytherin. Fred - Ravenclaw, duh. Gunn - Gryffindor through and through. Lorne - Hufflepuff \*\*Pythian Habenero \*\* has Liam and Faith down pat. Your analysis made me giggle. Antigone (Haven’t read the rest of the trilogy) Antigone - Gryffindor Ismene - Hufflepuff Haemon - Hmm. Gryffindor/Ravenclaw I think. Tiresias - Remind you a bit of Dumbledore? Ravenclaw, I think. Xander is definitely a Gryffindor. They’re chosen for their bravery, and he’s the bravest one in the Buffyverse, IMO. Think about it - no special powers like Buffy or Angel, no super-intelligence like Willow/Giles, no magic powers like Willow/Tara, no hidden past like Anya/Giles - yet he’s right there beside them in every battle, facing every demon, doing what he can to defend his friends. He’s a bit like Ron, or maybe Neville. Granny Weatherwax though - tough one. My first thought was that she’s definitely Slytherine - she knows better than anyone just how strong her dark side is, and how hard she fights to control it. But then of course, she’s also really brave, and incredibly intelligent, so could also go into Gryff or Ravenclaw. Couple more TP ones: Archchancellor Ridcully - Gryffindor. The Bursar - Hufflepuff. The Patrician - Syltherine, of course, where else?! CMOT Dibbler - Syltherine. ---

I always thought the defining characteristic of House Slytherin was personal ambition. Thanks for the compliment, but I don’t see where you’re getting some of your stuff. Specifically Xander and Willow. Giles too, but mostly Xander and Willow. They are Gryffindor. They are Gryffindor for the same reasons as Ron and Hermione, respectively. Why do you think they don’t belong in Gryffindor? As for Giles, he’s Ravenclaw.
