Why are all of you taking the bait on this? C’mon. New guest, a couple of weeks of largely innocuous posting, dipping lightly into a controversy or two, and then this massive hissy-fit departure announcement, inviting page after page of derisive piling-on… Isn’t it obvious this is a bit of chain-yanking? This person, whoever he or she is, is sitting in front of the monitor absolutely _creaming_ him/herself at having successfully jerked everybody’s strings and elicited a multi-page sound-and-fury slamfest. Jesus, people, we’re smarter than this. Just leave it alone, for fuck’s sake. ---

It’s just an opportunity to trigger one of the SDMB’s patented ‘amusing riffs on a theme’ threads. it usually takes an incredibly stupid OP in the pit to trigger them, but once they kick off, they create their own justification. At this point, I doubt that 90% of the people participating in the thread give a hoot about the OP’s personal opinion. Of course, I could be wrong, and we’ll end of imploding in it. ---
