The sad thing is that if Trebow openly worshiped Satan, the religionists would try to suppress that right, and secularists would end up opposing this and defending his rights. This would lead those self-same religionists to claim that secularists admired Satanism, etc. Back in the 1960s, when we fought for civil rights for blacks, we got called “Nigger lovers.” When we opposed McCarthyism, we got called “pinks.” They trot out the same stupid reasoning when they try to pass laws forbidding the desecration of the American flag. We oppose such laws, and they promptly brand us as “flag haters.” Same damn thing, over and over. (Except that I actually do like blacks… I despise communists… And I pretty much ignore the flag… So it goes…) ---
