_I, Wonder_ aka _II, Robot_: Will Smith returns as Detective Spooner in this action blockbuster! Turns out that VIKI didn’t die at the end of _I, Robot_ - she instead transferred herself into an android child created by an inventor who wants to experiment with an innocent, completely unaware of the Three Laws. He lets his son play with the girl (who now calls herself ‘VICI’), but she secretly plots her revenge. Sonny, now the leader of the good robots, discovers her identity. He must convince Det. Spooner to destroy the child for the good of humanity. It’s box-office gold - 80’s sitcom movie adaptation and a sequel all in one. ---

Pilot episode debuted July 5th, 1989 (and that single episode is considered an entire season by the show’s producers) so I guess it counts: "In a world where nothing matters except the excrutiating minutiae of every day life, and…yada yada yada.
