Okay, I just asked a GQ [thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=170358) about inventions, specifically how to go about creating them.

In this thread I’m wondering have any of you dopers ever “officially” invented something? That is gone down and gotten it copyrighted (Or what not)?

If so, what was it?
