What universe are you from? One where “IS” departments exist?
security is an issue with ipads. iPads don’t have tpm chips for example. Patient records require or should require a high level of security. If you have a web based app where the data never actually resides on the device, then that may not be an issue.
Some of the doctors at the walk-in clinic I go to use iPads. I requested a referral and I got a call three days later for an appointment.
My actual family doctor writes stuff down, (or doesn’t) and refuses to put in referrals for things that she thinks are silly and or irrelevant. She is only my doctor because by being her patient I can go to the other doctors at that clinic in off hours as a walk-in.
Bring on the iPads because I think she will retire if she has to use one.
