I recently got the new iPhone 18 Pro Max. My old phone was a 16 so I gave it to my wife. She had old mini 12.

We went into the Apple Store and they made all of the switch overs.

Got home and ironed out all of the bugs but one - she can’t send me photos on text.

Before this, we could both send and receive texts and pics both ways no issue.

Now, she can send me texts but not photos. I can send her texts and photos and she receives them both.

I’ve checked all the settings I can think of to no avail.

Other peoples photo texts come thru alright.

This is driving us crazy. Help?

Also, she can send pics to others no problem.

Are you using iMessage or RCS/SMS?

Ok, I’ve got it narrowed down. In text mode, if she clicks the + sign and chooses “photos” and selects one from her photos - it goes through and I receive it.

But if she goes to her photos first, chooses one and chooses the upload icon, then selects my contact, and hits send, it will show delivered on her screen but will not be delivered to my phone.

So strange.

That may send via airdrop, not iMessage.

Yes, make sure both your phones’ AirDrop setting allows each other.

iMessage sometimes get confused. Turn it off, restart the phone, turn it back on.

Have you updated both phones to iOS 27.2 which came out just a few days ago?
