I need some recommendations for an iPhone X case. I have a cracked screen from dropping the phone on the patio. I had a case on it but not a very heavy duty one (obviously!). Luckily I had insurance on it, so for $149 they will send me a new one. I want to get a case that has excellent protection, but not too bulky. I want to be able to carry it in the phone pocket of my purse and in my back pocket when walking and listening to audio books. I would also like one that is kind of cute or pretty!

I have an OtterBox Defender case on my iPhone X, but no screen protector. It’s a rugged case, but it is bulky and makes it a little difficult to remove the phone from my pocket, because the plastic case sticks to my leather wallet.

I imagine Jonathan Ive somewhere crying over how we’re all hiding his sleek, beautiful designs in these ugly, bulky cases.

I like UAG cases. Had a few of their Pathfinders in black. Rugged yet lightweight and not bulky.

My husband has a UAG case and it seems to be a good case, although he doesn’t use his phone as much as I do. His pretty much stays put for most of the day.

I know the Otterbox cases are supposed to be really good, but they do look bulky and hard to remove from a pocket or purse.

I’ve been perusing Amazon and came across a few that look promising; Supcase and i-Blason. There’s one that doesn’t have a brand name which gives me pause, it just says iPhone X Transparent Case. It has a transparent back so you can see the back of the phone. They all have great reviews. I do know that I won’t purchase one from the AT&T store while I’m there getting my new phone $$$$$$$$!

I’ve got an [OtterBox Strada](https://www.otterbox.com/en-us/apple-iphone-x-apple-iphone-xs/strada-series-folio-case/77-57234.html). I like it because it has a flap cover with a magnet closure.

I had a case without a cover on my previous phone, a Galaxy S7 Edge. I dropped it on the floor and it bounced back up and hit the bottom edge of the fridge. $250 later, I purchased this case for my newly fixed phone. When I switched to the X, I stayed with the same design.

If only Dieter Rams had designed something suitable for Ive to have copied.

I bought a $4.98 JETech case for my XR thinking that it would be temporary while I shopped for a ‘proper’ case. It’s been great and I never bothered to get another case. They also make clear ones.
