Hey all,

Just recently got a used ipod as a gift, and plugged it into the computer here. I’m using winamp for management of files, but for some reason, about 1/2 to 2/3 of the time, winamp just doesn’t recognize the ipod as being there. The computer recognizes it; I can pull it up on the ‘my computer’ window, but… No access from Winamp. Also, Itunes seems to not like it… Or not like -something-. When I’m having the Winamp difficulty, Itunes will simply freeze up if I try to run it at all. No idea what’s going on, and it’s getting more than just a little frustrating.
I tried signing up for the tech support forums for Winamp, but they’re being maddeningly slow in emailing me the confirmation info. So, I turn to the teeming millions. Someone’s gotta know what the heck I’m supposed to be doing!

Question rescinded, problem solved: For anyone else with this issue, I went into ‘my computer’ then clicked on (any) song from my ipod. It took a minute to process, but afterwords Winamp seemed to realize, “Hey! There’s a thing there with music!”
