# Ipsum Dolor

Y’all have probably all seen ad copy in which text content is represented by a string of nonsense words that go something like “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet…” it isn’t just random stuff, it’s always the SAME boilerplate nonsense words!
## Where did it originate, and when? Is there someone wandering around the advertising world passing out floppy disks that contain the ipsum dolor document? [I looked online briefly, but most hits were for online ad copy that uses it as described above, rather than explanations for its origin]
