I suppose they should be nervous of ink stains after the Bam quake. Remember the one where Tehran said no to US help? Posers.
Looks like we were horning in and trying to take over and kill all them brown people. After all, everything we do is to oppress and kill the furriners.
Of course, that was in the past. We must look to what the US is doing today to annhililate Iranians.
.
How is this not proof that Bush wants to kill Iranians? His actions are speaking louder than his words. Oh, wait. There’s no action other than diplomatic talks. Never mind.
Let’s see, can we find any evidence that the American military has done anything to show aggression towards Iran? Based on the above linked article, yes they have.. At least to people that live in their own fantasy world.
.
So we did have military in Iran recently. Where is the uproar?!? And for God’s sake it was while Bush was President!!! Why hasn’t the world melted down yet? We all know he’s a warmongerer and hell-bent on destroying every country on the face of the Earth. Couple that with the fact he’s pure eeeevvvillll and have to ask. Why can’t I get a Persian rug for $4.00? Why am I not hauling ot home on 39 cent per gallon gas?
Everyone knows Halliburton is bent on world domination for oil, and Iran has quite a bit of it.
We’ve already had our military in Iran and we didn’t bomb one government building! This is an outrage. As an American I expect swift and efficient obliteration of all other cultures. I am disappointed. We’ve allowed this country to go since 1979 with no major attack, and I’m tired of it. If we’re going to be stigmatized with the Impirialistic tag, then I want to see some fireworks on the evening news. Let’s get some entertainment for our buck. Less money for aid, and more for bombs!
Yeah, but Iran may be thinking further down the line.
I’d have to imagine that Iran’s take on what happened in Iraq is “they had no weapons and tried to prove they had no weapons, and it didn’t work at all. So we’d better get everything we can.”
We’ve got a STEALTH missle. Yeah. That’s why you couldn’t see our super secret test. Yeah. That’s the ticket. And if you mess with us, we might have to get STEALTH on your ass.
Actually, threats against Iran predated the current nuclear issue.
Ahem… Even without the USA, with neighbors as stables as Irak and Afghanistan, or even Pakistan, it seems to me that Iran certainly needs a military. They had some use for it back then. They didn’t send the police to fight Irak.
I’ve no knowledge about military technologies, so I wouldn’t know if having develloped this one in particular is likely or not, but Iran isn’t known as a technologically backward country. It isn’t exactly a shithole.
I realize that the “Adjective + Noun” codenames for tests are probably computer-generated, but did nobody in the Pentagon consider that calling a “mushroom-cloud”-type bomb test “Divine Strake” perhaps involved a poor choice of adjective, given the current state of religious tension in the world?
I suppose it could have been “Divine Crusade”, which would have been marginally worse, but still… :dubious:
[I know *kamikaze* meant “divine wind”, but I don’t think the WW2-era Japanese military should be used as a naming template.]
Stealth (that actually works) isn’t exactly the easiest technology either. Let me ask you something…does France have a stealth missile? How about the UK? Russia (or the old Soviet Union)? The EU? Hell, does AMERICA have a stealth missile for that matter?
Afaik only the US has stealth (again, that works) capable aircraft. Now, maybe thats because only the US has felt the need…or maybe its because its very technologically challenging to do.
[Dork]On NPR tonight they dicussed that. Certain parts of the military have different two letter callnames for their programs. The department which made this had the “Di-” callname.[/dork]
Yes, Virginia, France has a stealth cruise missile, designed to penetrate enemy defenses and deploy submunitions to tear up airstrips. Not exactly shiny-and-new, either.
A STEALTH cruise missile? Do you have a cite for that? No need to be nasty btw…I didn’t know that.
Um…no. Again, do you have a cite that other countries have stealth technology air craft? I was unaware that any country but the US bothered with it…or poured in the amounts of money necessary to do it so that it works.
If its a dime a dozen technology then obviously I’d be wrong about Iran being able to bring it off.
This is what sent off the alarms on my bullshit meter.
You’re in charge of a country that has a majority population that wants to live the life that they see the West living. Not the consumerist part of it (though I’d make a wager that’s really a big part), but the hope of being free of Tehran’s theocratic dominance of day-to-day life of the average Iranian.
Many on these boards like to deplore America for forcing a fundamentalist agenda on resisting citizens. Taken in perspective, that hysteria is proven false day after day. Our resisting citizens are allowed to openly protest against Washington, and vote for representatives that openly (gasp!) disagree with that tack. Oh, and they’re allowed to say they hate God with no punishment of the parochial ruling class. Hell, if the Patriot Act were as bad as I’ve seen stated here, I’d be in the majority as many would be in prison for what they say about the current government.
Funny how many that say America is so bad are the first to defend Iran’s weapons program. They have a right to nuclear weapons? Maybe. But so do Indonesia, Libya, Venezuela, Cuba and Mexico. Nothing to worry about with those countries. They seem like the kind of folks that would use nuclear weapons in a peaceful manner. No reason to think they have any problem with America.
Oh, wait. Chavez is all but calling for a pre-emptive war on America.(While relying on US monetary investment.) Fox is actively helping his constituents come to the US illegally. (The… wait. I need to prepare myself for this. The Mexicans don’t want the Mexicans.) Castro is such a great leader that his constituents literally float in driftwood to get to the US.
Here’s proof that the Iranian ruling psychos need to be taken out to save the Iranians that for the most part don’t hate America. (And everyone else that lives in a free country. I’ll include France just because I’m in a good mood.)
They came up with, and successfully tested a STEALTH missle.
Then told everyone about it.
Pretty stealthy, I’ll grant them that. The missles don’t seem to be the only stealth coming from Tehran, based on the fact so many beleive this shit.
Appearently stealth (or low observable) technology in missiles is easier than I thought. So I was probably wrong…it seems the Iranians COULD have developed this easily enough (or bought it from someone for that matter and then just adapted it).
